What Are They Doing With "Food?"
Greetings to all,
Damoclès sword refers to a dangerous situation which can strike at any moment.
In this writing, I am focusing on catastrophic illnesses, and particularly on cancer. People fear the potential day they may be told the bad news: “You have been diagnosed with … and you have … weeks/months to live. It would be a good idea to set your affairs in order.”
Like Damoclès sword hanging over our head… we often live with this eerie feeling of “what if…”
Instead of focusing on “not being sick,” how about we focus on health and longevity?
Obviously, a healthy lifestyle is a prerequisite to live longer and healthier, to “die young at a very old age.”
Have you considered that mental stress and emotional pain are part of a lifestyle?
There are emotional links to cancer (and to all illnesses), which are often omitted when discussing “solutions.” People tend to stay away from emotions, as though they are a “bad” thing. Emotions are an intricate part of our life on planet Earth.
We hear that mental health problems are growing at an alarming rate. Today, there is one suicide, in the US, EVERY 11 MINUTES!
PTSD, mental health… these names carry a stigma. I prefer to talk about MENTAL FITNESS. Wouldn’t you like to be mentally fit? Wouldn’t that be a worthy goal?
Over my decades of research, training and experience, I found different “root causes” of ill health. They all play a role.
AND there are many things YOU can do to focus on HEALTH:
Nutrition: simply stay away from toxic and GMO foods - focus on organic and non-GMO as a first step. Nourish your body and brain with proper nutrients. Junk food is high in calories and low in nutrients. Healthy foods are high in nutrients and low in calories.
The body needs movements, so… move, daily. Start slowly if you are in precarious health and keep adding steps to your physical wellness.
Accept emotions. We are human beings, and emotions are what makes life interesting, sometime ecstatic and sometime excruciating. Emotions (e-motion = energy in motion) have to circulate. It is when they don’t evolve and get “stuck” in the body that they cause problems.
Mental stress: worry, anxiety, general malaise… all play a role in our state of health. There are easy (less than 1-minute) exercises we can do to relieve stress as it happens, and as a daily review at the end of the day, so it does not accumulate. Check the “3 Mind Hacks” on my website.
Habits and beliefs we have been “programmed” to follow - some good, some not-so-good - from our genetics, our culture, our environment, the media, etc. Become aware of how you react in your daily life. Is it empowering or disempowering?
Our spiritual beliefs also play a role in our overall health. Have you examined where they come from?
First is AWERENESS… then there is a choice: is there WILLINGNESS to change or will you ignore the signals? You then need TOOLS, TECHNIQUES and STRATEGIES (which is where I come in, unless you want to do your own research). Of course, you will have to take ACTION on what you learn. Only then will you find SUCCESS.
Here is the equation:
AWARENESS + WILLINGNESS + TOOLS & TECHNIQUES + ACTION = SUCCESS
