Greetings to all,
Don’t we live in strange, interesting and maybe scary times?
A few years ago (wow, it was 40 years ago), a young woman, friend of mine, decided she was going to vote for Bill Clinton because… she liked his haircut.
We hear that some women will vote for Kamala Harris because… she is a woman.
Some will NOT vote for Donald Trump because… well, there are too many because to list here.
What is the job of a president? We can compare it to a traditional family, whether it is patriarchy or matriarchy:
Leadership and Responsibility: Both the president and a patriarch/matriarch hold leadership roles, tasked with guiding, protecting, and making key decisions for the well-being of those they oversee, whether a nation or a family.
Caretaking Role: Just as a father/mother is expected to ensure the welfare, security, and stability of the family, a president is expected to ensure the prosperity, security, and health of a nation.
Moral Authority: Both roles often carry expectations of moral leadership and setting examples for behavior, values, and ethics, influencing those they lead.
Going deeper, in general, the job of the president of a country typically includes the following key responsibilities:
Head of State: The president represents the country domestically and internationally, serving as the symbolic leader of the nation.
Head of Government: In some countries (like the United States), the president is responsible for the executive branch of the government, ensuring that laws are enforced and policies are implemented.
Commander-in-Chief: The president has authority over the military, making key defense and security decisions, including mobilizing troops in times of conflict.
Legislative Role: The president often plays a role in shaping laws by proposing legislation, signing bills into law, or vetoing laws passed by the legislature.
Foreign Policy Leader: Presidents typically guide the country's foreign policy, negotiating treaties, meeting with leaders of other nations, and making decisions on international relations.
Economic Oversight: Presidents often influence economic policy, working on matters like the national budget, taxes, and economic growth.
Crisis Management: During times of national emergency or disaster, the president is expected to lead the country through crises, coordinating response efforts and providing reassurance to citizens.
The specific powers and responsibilities of a president vary by country, based on its constitution and political system.
Let’s ask some questions instead of blindly following the news:
Does Bill Clinton’s hairstyle have any influence on the above role of a president?
Does the fact that Kamala Harris is a woman make a difference as to whether it will be a good presidency?
Do all the “because” against Donald Trump show that he is unable to lead a nation?
Donald Trump was president for 4 years. How well did he do his job? Personally, I still have some problem with the warp speed way of handling the situation.
Kamala Harris was vice-president for almost 4 years. Are we better off now than then? Well, not according to my pocket book.
We seem to be heading toward WWIII. Vladimir Putin just said that he would take appropriate actions to protect his nation, which is the job of a president.
NATO, European countries, Canada and the USA are encouraging Ukraine to strike way deep into Russia. That sounds insane to me.
Who do you think would be better at confronting Vladimir Putin? Donald Trump or Kamala Harris (unless you want WWIII to start)?
We definitely live in strange, interesting and maybe scary times… and a lot of it is way beyond my pay grade.
Many have said this is a crucial time to vote… if we really are going to be able to. It’s NOT a matter of personality, of sex, of hairstyle, of skin color… it may be a matter of whether we will have a country or not, i.e. a question of life and death!
Yep… I still love this Legacy Program
Whether you decide to buy it or not, you may want to just check it and see if it could benefit you or a loved one. Checking it does not imply buying. You’ll get a few emails and you can easily unsubscribe. I checked it thoroughly before I joined the Legacy community.
Unfortunately, it costs money if we want to stay healthy financially. Here is a video I just posted on Youtube.
And here is the replay of last week’s Legacy webinar:
After the debate… cats, dogs, geese memes have appeared
Kamala Harris laughed at Donald Trump’s statements that pets (cats, dogs, geese) were being eaten by migrants in Springfield, Ohio.
People flooded the area and checked it out. It seems that unfortunately, it was true. Then memes appeared…
